Some frequently asked questions

What is the gallery's guest capacity?

The gallery's guest capacity is 70 people for ceremony, 120 people throughout and up to 200 people for drinks and canapes.

Does the hire of a marquee increase the capacity? 
Yes, it does allow you to seat up to 150 guests together for dinner.

When should a marquee be placed on site?
On the morning of the event by 11am and removed the following morning by 11am.

Do we need to use a specific caterers and suppliers?
No although we can recommend some to you who have worked at the Pump House Gallery before. They will need to liaise with us though about delivery, logistics, use of the catering cabin etc.

Is there a corkage fee?
No and unlike many venues you may provide your own drinks.

Where can we park vehicles?
Chelsea Car Park, which is Pay and Display and free after 5pm.  Enter Battersea Park at Chelsea Gate and the car park is along on your right.

Is the gallery inside of the congestion zone?
No it is not we are just south of it, it begins on the north side of Chelsea Bridge

Which vehicles are permitted to drive to the gallery doors?
Vehicles that are allowed to drive to PHG with prior permission are deliveries (such as equipment, caterers and florist vehicles)  and disabled persons.

Which is the most direct route to the gallery through the park?
Via Chelsea Gate, immediately south of Chelsea Bridge on Queenstown Road.

Is the Pump House Gallery fully accessible?
The ground floor is level and has a disabled toilet. Regrettably access to further rooms is via stairs.

Can I make a provisional booking?
An application form (downloadable from our website) is required to make a provisional booking, which is held until the date your deposit is due.

How much is the deposit?
50% with the remaining 50% required in advance of the event date. If your event date is less than three months from the date of the provisional booking, 100% will be requested.

Do we require event insurance?
Yes. We can recommend an event insurer and will require a copy for our records.
